It seems like Coachella was only yesterday. Since this year's Lolla headliners (and then some) leaked long ago, we already knew about Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, Jane's Addiction, Tool, Kings Of Leon, the Killers, Lou Reed, Decemberists, Neko Case, and Andrew Bird. Not too shabby. But almost too shabby. If that assortment of talent didn't convince you to attend, maybe this will: Animal Collective, Fleet Foxes, Deerhunter, Bat For Lashes, TV On The Radio, and Vampire Weekend. Well, this week we've learned that THE KILLERS have produced at least 39 seconds of follow-up to their stunning debut. Released pretty much to every music magazine and website under the sun today, you can now hear ALMOST enough of a song to ascertain a verse and a chorus. Frankly, we'd have preferred the whole song, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. One of the easiest places to hear it is via MuchMusic's website. Check all 39 seconds of it out.

MTV actually listened to the complaints and will air 10 hours of uninterrupted performance footage from last week's Live8 concerts. Starting at 10am-3pm, VH1 will start the broadcast and then it will switch to MTV from 3pm-8pm. Some of the performances include: U2, Pink Floyd, Coldplay/Richard Ashcroft, Paul McCartney, Killers, Robbie Williams, the Who and more...

If you can't watch, then maybe you'd like to download the performances from AOL. That site has a list of direct download links for almost every performer in every country. And as always, please go to the Live8 website and sign up, they don't want your money, just your face.

Thus began my second excursion into the world of the music video (we'll not mention the fiasco that was The Bluetones 'Fast Boy', okay?). So I rang up the number my friend Nina gave me, and discovered the shoot was happening on Monday, around the corner on Brick Lane, and that I was in the right age group they wanted. I was told to arrive at 1pm and to wear what I would to a gig, but wear neutral colours ONLY. I mean, we don't want to show up the band in a purple catsuit or anything...

It gets my back up when bands put on a lacklustre performance in the first third of their set, and then yell at the audience for not being engaged. Personally, I think that's cheating. If you have to yell at us to dance, or to come closer to the stage you're cutting corners.
