I saw this Wired link over at Slashdot about how Aphex Twin encoded his face into one of his tracks. You can view the images through spectrograph software. As the Wired article explains, there's a software package called MetaSynth where you can scan in an image and create music from it. Here's a page describing how to view the pictures and it also includes a bunch of great screenshots.
