Long time...

Well, it's been a LONG time.  The last update to this site was back in February but we're still very much alive.  Mainly we've been keeping the twitter/facebook pages updated with news and getting that information back into the site has been a little tedious.  So I'm going to start keeping our site updated as well with the stuff that gets posted in the previous week.  More after the jump:

Oasis Update: Mani's Joining Noel Live & Liam is Misunderstood

Two bits of news from NME:

First up is that Noel Gallagher is playing the a show for the Teenage Cancer Trust later this month and he'll be joined by none other then Mani (from Primal Scream and Stone Roses fame.

Secondly, Liam snubbed Noel when he accepted an award for Best Brit Album and then threw the award in the crowd.  Apparently, he was just misunderstood!  He only thanked the band because all the news circulates around Liam and Noel and he "thought it was only right to mention to other lads who played on the album and the best fans in the world".  And when he tossed his award into the crowd, "I thought it was a nice gesture to give this to the fans.  Obviously it was misinterpreted as per usual."

Oasis Win Brit Album of Thirty Years. Liam Still "Asshat of Thirty Years"

Oasis won the album for "Brits Album of 30 Years" for their superb album, "(What's The Story) Morning Glory".  Liam accepted the award and readied his acceptance speech, "Listen kids, I wanna thank Bonehead, Guigs, Alan White and hte best fucking fans in the world."  Leaving Noel and Andy Bell out.  Then he walked offstage but not before tossing the microphone and the award into the crowd.

According to the NME, Peter Kay was overheard calling Liam a 'knobhead' (whereas I prefer 'asshat').  THEN Liam writes on his twitter page calling him a "fat fuck" for not insulting him in person.  Yes, Liam's on twitter and he's using it to insult people that insult him behind his back.  Finally, Peter Kay calls Liam a knobhead on his website

I long for those years when Oasis just make records and Liam didn't need to act like an idiot just to drum up attention.

Liam on the Next Oasis Album, "It ain't a new direction"

Liam seems pretty confident that the next Oasis album will have the same sound as previous records despite the fact that Noel, the primary writer, has left the band.  They plan to have the next record out in the summer and according to Liam:  "We're not making reggae music or rap music. It might have a bit more energy and be fresher.

Oasis Drop Free Live LP, "Those Swollen Hand Blues" B-Side

When news of the Blur reunion came out, a commenter joked that maybe it would "make Noel Gallagher and Oasis start actually trying again." Well, if not trying harder, the brothers Gallagher are at least garnering goodwill by making some of their music free. The tracks -- set to be packaged together as The Dreams We Have As Children -- were recorded by a solo Noel at a charity show for Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall in March 2007. You can download four of the tracks at no cost, one code a day starting today, by using links that show up in the The Times UK (and, outside the UK, using Google presumably).

Additionally, a CD that includes 11 more songs will be included with the Times on 3/15. All the tracks will be available at regular download sites the next day. (And don't worry, Gallagher gave the Teenage Cancer Trust a donation so he could give the tracks away for free.) NME has the details about the specific tracks. While you read up on it, take a listen to "Those Swollen Hand Blues," a new Beatles-esque B-side on the out-now "Falling Down" single.Continue reading Oasis Drop Free Live LP, "Those Swollen Hand Blues" B-Side... - Source
