Liam and Patsy Split

Noel may be back, but Patsy's flown the coop. That's official word today from OASIS management, who have confirmed that singer's Liam Gallagher's marriage to actress Patsy Kensit is over. The couple, who have a son named Lennon, confirmed the much-rumoured split via the band's publicist. In other Oasis news, brother Noel rejoined the live Oasis this weekend in Dublin, and audience reports showed a highly-fueled, non-bickering set. The elder Gallagher maintains that he will only play live with the band during their UK dates.

Oasis Live Album

OASIS are readying a live album to be released sometime early next year, according to a report on NME. The album is being culled from the band's brief American tour earlier this year. There's still been no official announcement as to the band's future, following the row between Liam and Noel Gallagher that sent big brother Noel off the tour and to his Ibiza hideaway. Noel claimed in interviews last week that he was readying a solo album; Liam, still on the road with the rest of the band, says that if Noel continues with the solo record, Oasis will be no more.

Noel Quits Overseas Touring With Oasis

NOEL GALLAGHER has effectively pulled a Brian Wilson this morning, with his announcement that he is to quit all overseas touring with OASIS effective immediately. The band cancelled their gig Saturday night, claiming tendonitis in the wrist of drummer Alan White. However, as the band cancelled tonight's show, the Daily Mirror reported that yet another band fight (supposedly caused by Liam's excessive behavior on the road) had caused the elder Gallagher to catch a flight home.

Marr's Healers Are Finishing Debut Album

THE HEALERS, the new band led by former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, are beginning to take shape with the announcement that former Kula Shaker bassist Alonza Bevan has joined the ranks. The band are readying their debut album, to be entitled "Play Dumb," for a likely fall release. The Healers are set to make their large scale live debut opening for Oasis in Europe beginning late May.

Noel's A Dad and Steals from the Beta Band

OASIS just added yet another fan, as Noel Gallagher and Meg Matthews are today the proud parents of a 7 lb., 2 oz. baby girl. The newest Gallagher is to be named Anais Nin (after the French author.) The band, meanwhile, are taking flak this week because sources are claiming that the new Oasis single, "Go Let It Out," borrows heavily from the Beta Band's "Dry the Rain." While Noel Gallagher has publicly admitted that the group was an influence to him during writing, Beta Band frontman Steve Mason seems less than impressed. "A compliment that people steal your ideas?

Creation Will Not Release the New Oasis Record

CREATION RECORDS head honcho Alan McGee has confirmed today that the new forthcoming OASIS album will likely NOT be released through his label. It was recently announced that McGee and partner Dick Green were exiting the legendary label (which they founded) in June to pursue other interests. At that time, Creation still maintained that "Standing on the Shoulder of Giants," expected to be the biggest selling rock album of 2000, WOULD still come out on the label... all this despite claims from Oasis' Noel Gallagher that the band had no intention of doing so.

Oasis Are To Leave Creation

Noel Gallagher has told Melody Maker, as well as the Canadian press, that the forthcoming OASIS album will not be released on Creation Records. The elder Gallagher said in a recent Canadian interview, "We're looking at other alternatives." This news follows Creation's earlier claims that the band have no plans to leave the label.

Oasis Kick Off US Tour

OASIS kicked off their North American radio festival warm-up tour last night in Philadelphia to mixed reviews. The band's set was extremely short, consisting of only FIVE songs: Cigarettes and Alcohol, Supersonic, Wonderwall, Champagne Supernova, and a closing Noel-led cover of "Helter Skelter." More importantly, the radio station sponsoring the show, Y100, played an exclusive new track from the forthcoming new Oasis record, a cut called "Who Feels Love" that Noel described as the likely choice for a second single off the album.

Liam Goes Missing, But Then He's Found.

File this under Bollocks Rumour of the Week, but everyone's talking this morning that LIAM GALLAGHER has gone missing since last Friday. The story appeared this morning in the British tabloids, and we've yet to hear any form of official comment (though several fans have posted to the NME message board that Liam was, in fact, at a Fun Lovin' Criminals after-hours on Friday.) Of course, it's likely false... we'll keep you up-to-date.

Creation to Close Doors

An era is INDEED about to pass, as news reaches us today that CREATION RECORDS may soon cease to exist, and if it DOES continue on, it will do so without its founder, ALAN McGEE. McGee announced today that he is to step down as founder and president effective June 2000, to explore other business ventures. Under McGee's helm, Creation went from a bedroom-based operation to become one of the premier independent labels in the world.
