FATBOY SLIM has been making the news lately, with the word that his new album is nearly finished. "Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars" is set to come out on November 7th. It features some rather unlikely guest contributions, including popstress Macy Gray, funky bassist Bootsy Collins, garage vocalist Roland Clark, and, most oddly, Doors frontman Jim Morrison, whose voice is sampled on the planned first single, "Sunset (Bird of Prey.)" Early reports say the record is substantially more laid-back, thoughtful, and house-driven than Normie's previous efforts, in what seems like a calculated attempt to avoid the "big beat" sounds that have stereotyped his previous releases.
