Didi: | I got to watch my brother. And he bit the head off all my Barbies! All day, I gotta say ¨Tyrell, you want kool-aid?¨ And he ALWAYS says yes! So then I got to mix it up.
LaDara: | My sister and I, we played our game, candyland, and then she lost and she put all the pieces in the toilet! my momma said, "you do that again, you´re buying your own games¨!
Miss Allen: | What do you think of the song?
LaDara: | Who are these girls? Do you know 'em?
Didi: | Is it your mom? | |
Miss Allen: | Nope. | |
Didi: | I like it. | |

Dress Bessy Interview Miss Allen is "interviewed" about Dressy Bessy by Shatila Jones, a third grader.
|
||
Shatila: | This is Shatila Jones, the reporter. I am here to ask you about Dressy Bessy, the music. Ok, Ms. Sarah, why you like this music?
Miss Allen: | I like that it's happy. And it makes me think about driving in a car in the summer.
Shatila: | You got a car? | |
Miss Allen: | No, I don't.
Shatila: | Cause if you did, you are takin' me to six flags!
Miss Allen: | I love Six Flags!
Shatila: | Ummm... (thinking) Ms. Sarah, does Helen Keller like Dressy Bessy? |
|
Miss Allen: | Well, Helen Keller passed away. But when she was alive, she couldn´t hear music, remember? But she liked the way it felt. She could feel it.
Shatila: | (Blank stare) Could she hear a bell? |
|
Miss Allen: | No. | |
Shatila: | Could she hear a horse?
Miss Allen: | No. | |
Shatila: | Oh my GOD! Could she hear a raindrop??!!
Miss Allen: | She was deaf. She couldn´t hear ANYTHING!
Shatila: | Could she smell?
Miss Allen: | Yes, but she couldn´t see or hear.
Shatila: | Oh my GOD! | |

Ladybug Transistor - Song Unknown
|
||
Maribel: | Ohhhhhhhhhh!
Miss Allen: | What is it? | |
Maribel: | I heard this song before! In my life!
Miss Allen: | You did? | |
Maribel: | Yeah, when I was taking a bath!
Miss Allen: | Tell me the story.
Maribel: | My daddy said, "Maribel, if you don´t splash water all over the place, you can listen to music in the bathtub!" So he was putting...he put the cd player outside of the bathroom so I could hear it. And I heard it!
Miss Allen: | Are you happy to hear it again?
Maribel: | Yeah! I like this song! I never knew I would hear it at school! I also had a dream about this song!
Miss Allen: | What happened in the dream?
Maribel: | I had a horse. Then the horse died but it turned into a bike. And, my brother gave me all these jelly beans. They were stuck on my bike. I was riding the bike, you know? And eating jelly beans and stuff. And when I got home, my Grandma was there and she played this song. In my dream, my Grandma was so small. Only the size of a baby! That was my almost craziest dream I ever had! I only had one dream that was crazier than that. That one was about when my bones was made of forks. |
