Is this what they call attitude?

Billboard ran an interesting story a few days ago about the new "Chicks With Attitude" tour. The tour (basically a LIZ PHAIR headlining thing with a few openers) is set to hit 18 major US cities from August to September. The strange aspect of this isn't Liz touring in front of a giant Maybelline billboard as much as who the support acts are... NINA PERSSON (yes THAT Nina of the Cardigans), Katy Rose, and Charlotte Martin. A "preview" show will be happening next week in NY's Hudson Theatre. Pardon the skepticism but wouldn't "The Blond Lillith" tour be a better name?

In other road outings, THE CARDIGANS are headed stateside next month and we have the specific dates up on the tour page. Perhaps US fans will finally be able to pick up their latest record before it gets released here (with a bonus DVD) on May 25.

Cardigans: Diary of a new album

Sweden's illustrious Cardigans have invited you along on a recording tour of their new album. Their album diary follows them on their journey from Sweden, to Spain to England, to the moon and back again as they record and produce the upcoming record. Look out for a less electronic and more "live" feel to the new album.
PS. If you want to enter their 'contest'... try reading the gossip at Tambourine Studios.

Cardigans Bass Player Won't Tour the US

THE CARDIGANS are in the news this week with word that bass player Magnus Sveningsson will not be with the band for their upcoming U.S. tour. It's unclear if he will be rejoining the band later in the year. The Cardigans also release a new single (at least in the U.K.) on February 22nd, when "Erase/Rewind" hits the shelves.

Cardigans and Love And Rockets Tour Updates

Some tour news: Hotly tipped Swedish popsters KENT will be opening for THE CARDIGANS on their upcoming U.S. tour in February. The people behind that rather unfortunate cover of "Blue Monday", ORGY, will be opening for LOVE AND ROCKETS on their U.S. tour which will run from March into April.
