New Grandaddy/Earlimart Band, Admiral Radley at SXSW

We've previously talked about the new band Admiral Radley which has Jason Lytle (ex-Grandaddy) and member of Earlimart.  Over at npr.org you can check out a couple of tracks.  Since their first album isn't due out until the summer, it's really the only way to hear the band.

Jason Lytle (ex-Grandaddy) and Members of Earlimart Team Up

Jason Lytle and Aaron B. from Grandaddy and Aaron E. and Ariana M. from Earlimart are out searching for "Admiral Radley".  According to their site, "The music, the shows, and the press are all secondary.  Above all, we are looking for Admiral Radley."  Right now they don't have an album, but they do have two shows in March, one in Dallas and Los Angeles.  This is a new project for Jason Lytle who finished up touring in support of his first solo album, "Yours Truly, The Commuter", last year.  He's also uploading some songs that he recorded while touring, aptly called, "The Travelodge Sessions".  The first video is titled, "Wonder Why In LA".

Earlimart Line Up Summer Tour

A few weeks after the July 1 release of their Hymn and Her LP (via Majordomo), Los Angeles pop-rockers Earlimart will take to the road for a tour of modest proportions. The band's little summer adventure kicks off July 17 in San Diego and has them hitting that other coast and quite a few spots in between before wrapping up August 5 in Austin. - Source

Earlimart to Issue Hymn and Her in July

Earlimart are known for a few things-- palling around with the late Elliott Smith, a deft wit in the title department, being pretty good-- but they're not exactly renowned for their prolificacy. In fact, in their decade or so of existence, they've averaged about one album every two years, and the space between 2004's Treble & Tremble and last year's Mentor Tormentor was-- as you math majors have already worked out-- three years. - Source
