ex-Wonderstuff Singer Hits the Road

Does anyone remember the Wonderstuff? Back in the early ninties they were making some great pop songs like "Caught in my Shadow", "Size of a Cow", and "Don't Let me Down, Gently". Well, it seems like Miles Hunt (lead singer) is going back on the road to support an acoustic CD that Gig records is going to distribute. Click on tours for the full list of dates.

Charlatans One-Off Gig in LA

I've just spoken with a friend who is a concert promoter in the Los Angeles area and she said that Charlatans will be playing a show in the area to promote their recent release, Melting Pot. She didn't specify if this was a full tour of the US or just a couple of gigs in New York and Los Angeles. Keep an eye on the tour page for the dates.

Ian Brown signs to Polygram

News has come to us that the IAN BROWN album will *finally* see a US release later this summer, thanks to a new subsidiary of Polygram Records that will handle distribution. Keep checking the New Music Release Dates list for confirmation.

Tricky and Martina Part Ways

TRICKY has announced that his new album, "Angels With Dirty Faces," which is in stores this week, will be his last with vocalist Martina. According to a report from MTV, apparantly the two of them have taken offense at a recent article that dubbed them the "Ike and Tina Turner of the 90's," so they're severing ties after this album. Tricky's launching a US tour later this summer, no word yet if Martina will be involved.

Bauhaus Reunion Is A Go!

It's official, the Bauhaus reunion is going forward, with two shows in L.A. in early July. In addition, the band is considering a full-scale tour to follow. A double-album compilation of the best of Bauhaus, entitled "Crackle" will also be out within the next few weeks. At the same time, a new Love and Rockets single is arriving in stores.

Symposium Tour

Following the U.S. release of their debut album, "On the Outside", Symposium will be touring the states this summer on the Warped Tour.

World Cup Supergroup Track

This year's England World Cup song "(How Does It Feel To Be) On Top Of the World" was co-written by Ian McCulloch and Johnny Marr . It is set to be released on June 1st. The track also features all the Spice Girls on backing vocals, as well as contributions by members of Space and Ocean Color Scene . Also scheduled for release is "Three Lions 98" from the Lightning Seeds , a reworking of their prior World Cup theme.

Noel vs. Liam

This week's "Celebrity Deathmatch" on MTV, in addition to featuring an Oprah/Rosie battle royale, includes Noel and Liam Gallagher fighting it out in top claymation form. The episode premiers Thursday, May 21 at 10:00 p.m.

Verve Postpone US Tour
