Breeders Offer EP, Obama-Inspired Art, Rollerderby Video

When the Breeders play (and curate) All Tomorrow's Parties UK in May, they'll have new material: The Deal sisters have "discovered the treble knob" on their forthcoming four-song Fate To Fatal EP, which follows 2008's Mountain Battles. From its genesis, to the title track's roller derby-themed video, and the EP's Obama-themed album art, and the fact that the Deals are going to release it sans a label, there's plenty to get caught up on. Kim Deal sorts it out for us. Including the Bob Marley cover.Continue reading Breeders Offer EP, Obama-Inspired Art, Rollerderby Video... - Source

Oasis Drop Free Live LP, "Those Swollen Hand Blues" B-Side

When news of the Blur reunion came out, a commenter joked that maybe it would "make Noel Gallagher and Oasis start actually trying again." Well, if not trying harder, the brothers Gallagher are at least garnering goodwill by making some of their music free. The tracks -- set to be packaged together as The Dreams We Have As Children -- were recorded by a solo Noel at a charity show for Teenage Cancer Trust at London's Royal Albert Hall in March 2007. You can download four of the tracks at no cost, one code a day starting today, by using links that show up in the The Times UK (and, outside the UK, using Google presumably).

Additionally, a CD that includes 11 more songs will be included with the Times on 3/15. All the tracks will be available at regular download sites the next day. (And don't worry, Gallagher gave the Teenage Cancer Trust a donation so he could give the tracks away for free.) NME has the details about the specific tracks. While you read up on it, take a listen to "Those Swollen Hand Blues," a new Beatles-esque B-side on the out-now "Falling Down" single.Continue reading Oasis Drop Free Live LP, "Those Swollen Hand Blues" B-Side... - Source

Behind The Scenes Of Radiohead's Grammy March

Miley Cyrus was not a fan of the performance, since Radiohead were mean to her, but it seems like most folks enjoyed Thom and Jonny's "15 Step" Grammy collaboration with the USC Marching Band. Now we get to see how it came together. The Trojans uploaded an almost nine-minute video that follows the band from figuring out "15 Step"'s rhythm patterns to taking the stage after Gwyneth Paltrow's introduction. It's largely from the P.O.V. of the students themselves, so expect some geeky and excited backstage banter. Also expect a dis of U2's "Get On Your Boots" by a more outspoken member of the ensemble.Continue reading Behind The Scenes Of Radiohead's Grammy March... - Source
