Stream Colin Greenwood & The Sargent Brothers' Woodpecker Soundtrack

File under: More Radiohead soundtrack news. Jonny's set the pace, but he is not the only Greenwood with a taste for Hollywood. Colin's teamed up with another set of bloggable brothers, Tyler and Lee of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, to perform on the James Lavino-composed soundtrack for the Alex Karpovsky comedy Woodpecker. It's not There Will Be Blood, but it's a start. Listen to the whole thing at jameslavino.com (click "Film/Television" and then "Woodpecker"). Buy at iTunes, Amazon, or eMusic.

New Bloc Party - "Mercury" (CSS Remix)

Some folks think Bloc Party's "Mercury" sounds like "Shock The Monkey," an idea reinforced by the Planet Of The Apes video for the track. The CD version of the single comes with remixes of the track by CSS, Flosstradamus, and John Lydon (one of those is a lie), which could possibly dampen some of the Peter Gabriel echoes. Or not. New Spiritualized Video - "You Lie, You Cheat"

Fresh off their excellently over-the-top Pitchfork Fest set, Spiritualized's Jake Chapman-directed video for "You Lie You Cheat" is a tad more kinetic than the "Soul On Fire" clip that found a silver-clad J. Pierce rolling on the icy/dusty ground and prostrate in a hospital bed. Actually, even if all this video's shaky P.O.V. shots give you motion sickness, its trek to the 13th floor and back ends with the protagonist in a similar situation as its sleepier, sleeker predecessor. - Source
