Lou Reed & Moby Perform "Walk On The Wild Side"

At different times and for different reasons, everybody in Austin seemed to be talking about Lou Reed and Moby this year: It was Lou's year to be honored with keynote speaker status, and the FADER Fort hosted its own version of a tribute, calling Mark Kozelek, My Morning Jacket, Yo La Tengo, and others to cover Lou's tunes to free-liquor fed, dinner-skipping crowd. As for Moby, well like we said, he's newly resurgent, our DJ friends' consensus pick for Most Improved Player.

Anyway about that Lou Reed tribute: We brought you the pics a few days ago, but now the FADER folks have upped Lou's only performance: fittingly, a duet with fellow South By buzz boy Moby on one of those Reed tunes every single person in the audience was sure to know. - Source

Want to direct a Moby video?

Mute Records and Moby have announced a contest for developing directors. By emailing a 2mb (or less) video treatment (utilizing any song from 18) to info@d-e-f.com (include VIDEO COMP as the subject ) you could have the opportunity to direct a new video for Moby. Moby will personally select his favorite idea and then a 5,000 GBP budget will be awarded to the winter to direct a video for possible release.

New Bowie Record Features Air and Moby

Allstar has the story about David Bowie next album, Heathen'. It features guitar leads by Pete Townshend and remixes by Air and Moby. The album is due out on June 11th.

Beach Soundtrack Details

Orbital, Leftfield, and Asian Dub Foundation will be contributing new music to The Beach sountrack. Moby will include a remix of Blur's 'On Your Own' and as reported earlier, New Order will include their first new track in over six years, 'Brutal'. The soundtrack will be released February 8th on London Records.
