Badly Drawn Boy Readies New Album, Listen To A New Demo
Badly Drawn Boy is gearing up for a new release, It's What I'm Thinking, Pt 1 which is due on October 4th in England. After his Born in the U.K. album received some bad press, he had a hard time getting back in the studio. He was able to write the score for a TV drama called "The Fattest Man in Britain" and then he turned his attention to writing his own album.
A demo of the track, "In Safe Hands" can be heard over at 24bit and you can check out some other stuff on Badly Drawn Boy's youtube channel.
Badly Drawn Boy Goes 'Back to the Beginning'
Badly Drawn Boy has recently told BBC's 6music, "I really honestly feel like I’m back to the beginning. Whatever’s been done in the past is done, whatever I’ve achieved or not achieved." He has recently released the soundtrack to a TV movie called, "Is There Nothing We Can Do" and is beginning work on his seventh studio album. Hopefully he can come back with an amazing record.

New Badly Drawn Boy Video - "The Time Of Times"
This "slightly revamped" take on Badly Drawn Boy's "The Time Of Times" is from the forthcoming UK film Definitely Maybe, which centers on a guy with an impending divorce attempting to explain love to his daughter. Likely tear jerky, yes, but oh so bitter and sweet in equal parts, as you'll figure out on your own by watching the following. Source
Video Killed the Bad Drawn Boy
Damon Gough (aka Badly Drawn Boy ) is getting a jump start on the new year with a single release on January 6 of 'Born Again'. You can watch the video now courtesy of Dotmusic.
Badly Drawn Single
What's wrong with a limited release anymore? To add to the ridiculousness of BOWIE releasing 23 different versions of his new greatest hits, BADLY DRAWN BOY will be releasing and deleting his new single in the same day. October 14 will see the release of Damon's new material "You Were Right" in the UK, only to have the material disappear by the end of business hours.
So much for finding it in America...
New War Child Release on the Horizon
NME has announced plans today for a new War Child charity record to follow in the footsteps of the acclaimed "Help" record of several years ago. Bands who have agreed to participate are to go into studio between now and the first week of September to lay down a cover of their choice, provided it was a former UK #1 song. The disc will be released in October to coincide with the 50th birthday of NME and the anniversary of the first UK pop music chart. Bands already confirmed to appear include: OASIS, MANIC STREET PREACHERS, STEREOPHONICS, BADLY DRAWN BOY, STARSAILOR, FEEDER, JIMMY EAT WORLD, BASEMENT JAXX, and MS. DYNAMITE, with more to be announced as the project nears completion.
