Apparently I'm still not back on track but managed to go through my leads and pick out some interesting stories.  So if you've been AWOL like me for the last couple of weeks then this should help you get caught up, read on!

My Morning Jacket recently announced they're putting out a fresh new live EP on what's been dubbed "Record Store Day," April 18th. The songs were recorded last summer in their hometown of Louisville at the Ear-X-tacy record store and Waterfront Park. Here's the catch: you have to buy the EP in-store. - Source

Did you see Conan last night? That Anne Hathaway is delightful. Did you know she used to be in a college a cappella group? My Morning Jacket were on too, and they did "Touch Me I'm Going to Scream (Part 2)." I'm sure Anne Hathaway enjoyed it. Conan definitely did; he likes all the cool bands. Earlier in the show, Conan invited MMJ's biggest fan (Scott from Alabama) to come backstage and meet the band. LOL ensued. - Source

My Morning Jacket have unveiled the tracklist of Z follow-up Evil Urges. And if the album's 14-song length is any indication of its sound, we may be in for grandiosity of the lengthier It Still Moves variety rather than the tighter attack we got on Z. Either way, we're psyched. - Source

Heroes doesn't normally give us a lot of reasons to mention it, as pop music is rarely incorporated into their scenes about staving off the apocalypse. There was that one time where some girls were double-dutching to M.I.A.'s "Boyz" (before Kala became the Reminder of dance music) but that hardly seemed worth a post. Usually the deepest we go with the show here is when Peter Patrelli turns up in Fergie videos.

But apparently none of that really matters when it comes to compiling the show's soundtrack, because it's hella cool and hella full of stuff that has absolutely no connection to the narrative (okay, Bowie's "Heroes" is a logical inclusion). The key question for OST compilers these days seems to be "what will make us appear cooler" -- and in Heroes' case, they've succeeded here, most notably scoring the Jesus & Mary Chain's first studio recording in a decade ("All Things Must Pass") and a new and exclusive tune from Wilco, "Glad It's Over." That's in addition to previously unreleased tunes from Imogen Heap, Brighton Port Authority (feat. Iggy Pop), and Panic At The Disco, as reported by Billboard. To throw more coolness at you: there's a tune from the Chemical Brothers (feat. Spank Rock) and oldies from Dylan, My Morning Jacket, Death Cab, the New Pornographers, do you really need us to go on? In a real show of teamwork (and product tie-ins), the fans whipped out their digital cameras and cells to shoot MMJ and the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra performing "Gideon" at the Chicago Lollapalooza. (Remember?) Good to see Perry looking so spry. At the beginning of the resulting video we're told "every clip was used." Yes, even that inevitable shot of some dude's flat ass. - Source

On NPR website, there is a weekly show called All Songs Considered and they have archived several full concerts from artists like Death Cab For Cutie, Secret Machines, My Morning Jacket, White Stripes, Sigur Ros, Interpol and more. I'm listening to the Secret Machines right now and it's stunning. GO NPR!!
