Purge #2: Death Cab, Joy Division, Smiths, Cypress Hill, Radiohead (as usual), She & Him, Elbow, Muse, Badly Drawn Boy and more
Here's the next round of updates that I've written over the last couple of months but never got around to posting. Enjoy!
But Wait, There's More: JAMC, National, YLT, Beady Eye, Suede, Godspeed, Sebadoh, Smiths, Radiohead, and TONS more
First Videos of the Godspeed Reunion Are Now Online!
Godspeed You! Black Emperor made their return this past weekend by curating the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in England. Someone named, "Polar1One", videotaped the show and they've now been uploaded to youtube. I can't wait to see them live! Here are the videos:
Friday Roundup: Belle & Sebastian, Suicide Girls, Arcade Fire, Daft Punk (again), Bright Eyes, Farm, A Stupid Band, and more
Tons of good stuff today, a surprising number of NSFW links (two), but they are relevant. :) Enjoy!
Post-Thanksgiving: Primal Scream, The National, Z-Trip, Atlas Sound Arcade Fire covers Smiths, and more
Lots of good stuff from the holiday weekend. Mainly the videos from the Primal Scream Screamadelica shows. Seeing them doing Loaded was pretty fuckin' awesome and it's something that I've never seen. The chances of a show like that coming to the US is pretty rare but damn. They should get together with Suede and knock it out.
Monday Wrapup: Arcade Fire, Lou Reed, Daft Punk, Girls, XX, Prodigy, Joy Division and Scalpers
I'm having more fun writing these summaries, I think I found my new format. Now if I can only put this together quicker I might do it daily instead of sporatically. Anyway, lots of links in this one, enjoy!
Thursday Afternoon Delight: Pulp reunite, Nirvana covers, non-news for Radiohead, Neil Young Started the Fire, and more...
Lots of odd items in the roundup today. My favorite is the Neil Young story about his Hybrid car exploding. That's just good/bad stuff right there.
Twitter is Back!
Several months ago twitter changed the way that you can post to their site. Many sites had to scramble and update. Since twitter is unfortunately an afterthought for me, it took me a while to get around updating the site. I know our 23 followers were crushed but they can now rejoice as the service should be up and running again! hiazzah!
I'm going to enable cell phone updates so I can post more random stuff that I see, especially when I go to shows. Not being a music writer means that I can pretty much sum up all my thoughts about a gig in 140 characters or less.
Friday Roundup: BRMC, Daft Punk, Jane's Addiction, The Cure, F**K Kings of Leon, Virtual Pop Stars, Steve Jobs and more!
Here's another recap of some of my favorite stories from the week and some oldies which should just be shared. My favorite is the Groove Armada slamming Kings of Leon, William Shatner covering Cee-Lo, oh so much fun. Keep reading...
Ride's 'Nowhere' Gets A 20th Anniversary Reissue
Our favorite shoegaze band is back with a 20-year-old album. Rhino Records is going to reissue the ground breaking debut album from Ride, 'Nowhere'. The 2CD set will be released on December 21st. The first disc is a remastered US version of 'Nowhere' as well as the 'Today Forever' EP. The second disc will contain only five songs from a show they did on their first US tour (recorded at the Roxy in LA in 1991). Tracklisting is inside...
UPDATE: A more complete tracklisting of CD2 is now included. It is not a measly 5-tracks!
